About Valinda:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

The Vulture, like the Hyena, is an animal which you either like, or dislike. My feelings towards vultures were the latter, until I started watching live safari broadcasts. The guides (naturalists) gave me a whole new perspective on these birds and they soon became my favorite bird species.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I have always had a soft spot for the vulnerable. \"How are vultures vulnerable?\", you may ask. We are the reason they are vulnerable.....their whole existence is threatened by us, with being electrocuted, poisoned (from poached animal's carcasses), facing issues such as habitat fragmentation and increased human conflict.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

These birds, like hyenas and all other scavengers, play a vital role in cleaning up the environment in which they live, by preventing the spread of diseases such as rabies and tuberculosis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As an artist living in the city and loving animals, I am forever browsing the internet looking for reference photos of animals to draw. I wanted to draw a vulture and started looking for photos. I found a stunning black and white photo, taken by Ben Kerckx, and with his permission,\u00a0 started my journey with this guy. The mere size and majestic stature of this bird mesmerized me. With the help of Dr Gerhard Verdoorn, we recognised it as the Cinereous Vulture and he also suggested a very apt name for the drawing: The Emperor of the Mountains.<\/span><\/p>

When the opportunity arose and I realised I could make a difference with my art, I knew I had to heed the call. Artists are using their talent to stand up for their beliefs, and I am so blessed and fortunate to contribute towards the global conservation effort. I hope that my art will speak to the hearts of people worldwide and that all of us, together, can put an end to this madness!<\/p>About Nicola:<\/strong><\/p>

Welcome to the edge of the forest. This is where the good mud is. This is where the way to the wild is open. This is where I come to make medicine with art. I started making these artworks after spending four months wandering in the wilderness of the Pacific Crest Trail, a route which runs unbroken through backcountry, 4265km from Mexico to Canada. These artworks were inspired by my time there: the vast wilderness journey that created my own inner wilderness journey. Through my art I was able to process what happened out there, and come to understand my deep connection to myself through my connection to the wild natural world. I hope that through this artwork you are able to hear the call, find the old doorway, sense the path, and flick the wolfish tail that hides just under your everyday clothes. I hope that the medicine I found comes to you here now.\u00a0<\/p>

About Karen and Steve:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

In the mid 80\u2019s Steve took a photography class at a local community college, and I (Karen) took a photography class in high school so with really no experience, just enough to be dangerous we decided as a couple, in our mid-50\u2019s, that we would like to do photography as a hobby to spend time together.<\/span><\/p>

We do not do photography for the likes, or the sort of measures that people aim for today, but we wish the story behind these images are getting out there to help influence the world. We have met some of the most amazing resilient people and communities we have ever known in our lives through these photoshoot opportunities.<\/span><\/p>

Seeing an Instagram post about Shongweni Nature Reserve had an immediate impact and we knew we had to create an image to help protect this area and bring awareness.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

After much research and attempts to find the correct language associated with this area, we decided to title our piece: \u201cOns is die gestroopte\u201d (We are the Poached). A little piece of wire inconspicuous and indiscriminate laid by poachers to be but a silent killer.\u00a0 We are the one trapped\u2026. with help only just a few inches away casually relaxing and looking on with no concerns for our need of assistance? I grew up roaming the mountains of Colorado. Thrilled by the magic of the natural world, I sketched what I saw, gathering inspiration as I observed animals in their natural habitat. Art can be transformative, connecting us with nature's magic and beauty. I strive to capture these experiences through brushstrokes of deep emotion, allowing the viewer to reconnect with the thrill of wild places and inspire others to help preserve our natural world.<\/p>

I enjoy the challenge of painting the beautiful and elegant leopard.\u00a0 Good fortune during my travels has given me the privilege of observing these elusive cats many times in various settings and behaviours. About Carina:<\/strong><\/p>

My name is Carina Meyer, and I am a South African wildlife artist and BscZoology student, and dream to reach higher goals with my art. One of those goals includes using my art for conservation!\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0Quo Vadis Africa has given me that opportunity. I saw their post of the very first art that they received, and afterwards they commented on this artwork, titled \"Chuckle\". Which eventually gave me the push that I needed to take action on my dreams and stop waiting for the right moments.\u00a0<\/p>

I kept a close eye on Quo Vadis Africa, and I would like to do more for conservation in the future.\u00a0<\/p>

My inspiration has always, literally always been nature, specifically that of Africa.<\/p>

A Fluid Artist with a Fine Art background, now there's a bit of ambiguity for you.<\/p>

I stumbled across Fluid Art about 4 years ago and fell in love with the techniques. I love the fluidity, the surprise element and that nothing is ever guaranteed.<\/p>

I work in the three disciplines of Acrylic Pouring, Resin and Alcohol Ink, often combining the mediums to create visually exciting art works.<\/p>

My work is current, on trend and as an artist I am able to cater to the Private Individual as well as to Interior Decorators\/Designers who specialise in the Hospitality Industry.<\/p>

I wanted to support T-shirts for change, but being an abstract artist I needed to try to create a design that would fit into the genre.<\/p>
